Cranfield Airport is a busy general aviation airport situated in class G airspace, providing excellent facilities for training including VOR, NDB, ILS and VDF let-down procedures. Full Air Traffic Control (Aerodrome and Approach Control) is provided seven days a week, during Airport operating hours.Cranfield Airport is licensed by the CAA and maintained to the highest standards.
All Cranfield Flying School’s (CFS) Flight Instructors are CAA approved. We operate 7 days a week during the summer and winter. Our aircrafts are maintained to the highest standards by licensed engineers at J & J Engineering, Limited – our sister organisation based at Peterborough Sibson Airfield.
It is our aim at Cranfield Flying School to be efficient but provide a friendly service to our members. We take pride in the progress and achievements of our Commercial and Private students. Many CFS pilots move on to become Service or Commercial pilots but still maintain strong ties with us throughout their careers.
When you have your Private Pilots Licence (PPL), or your National Private Pilots Licence (NPPL), you will have proved something to yourself and also to those about you. You will have found a new kind of freedom and personal fulfilment.
A tesimonial from a past student.
On my way back to Heathrow I somehow couldn’t believe that all of this really happened. But it did, and I am extremely happy how everything turned out. Far beyond my expectations! It’s good to know there are people out there who make you feel confident and make things possible. Too many people in aviation just know standard procedures. Sometimes even people who should know better!
I already recommended your flight school to two other people. They might be interested in a FAA PPL conversion as well, sometime this or next year.
David is a great instructor. I went flying with some colleagues yesterday. I did the smoothest landing ever by just following his advise (be more gentle on the controls). Too many young flight instructors teach pilots to fly small airplanes “by the numbers”, which is wrong, I believe. I would definetly like to come back for some more training.
